Cotton Challenges: Smart and Sustainable Solutions
The 77th Plenary Meeting was held in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, 2-6 December 2018, at the Sofitel Abidjan Hotel Ivoire. The theme of this years event was "Cotton Challenges: Smart and Sustainable Solutions," and addressed critical topics such as the potential impacts of climate change, rapidly increasing microfibre pollution, innovative new technologies from throughout the value chain, and insights from some of the worlds top cotton researchers.
Unlike other industry events, ICAC’s Plenary Meetings are specifically designed to provide actionable recommendations to help governments formulate a policy that benefits the hundreds of millions of people around the world who depend on cotton for their livelihood.
At the conclusion of the meeting, attendees had the option of going on a technical tour that had been arranged for those who wanted to take a closer look at Côte d’Ivoire’s cotton industry and other attractions.
