Press Release - 23rd CSITC Round Trial Completed

                                                                                            23rd CSITC ROUND TRIAL COMPLETED

The 23rd Round Trial under the auspices of the Task Force on Commercial Standardization of Instrument Testing of Cotton (CSITC Task Force) was conducted from July to September 2012. During the Round Trial, 83 testing facilities from all continents submitted results from 148 instruments, the highest participation since the Round Trials started in 2007. With a median evaluation of 0.46, (zero would be perfect) this Round Trial showed one of the best results ever, proving that participating laboratories are improving their performances. The purpose of the Round Trials is not to grade laboratories or provide pass/fail results. The purpose of the Round Trials is to improve cotton instrument testing world wide by detailed, confidential, diagnostic results to each participating laboratory. The General Evaluation Report can be seen at csitc.org, CSITC Round Trials from October 2 on. Thank you to all laboratories for contributing to the success of the CSITC Round Trials. Information about CSITC and overall Round Trial results (information for individual laboratories is confidential) is available at www.CSITC.org. The next meeting of the Task Force on CSITC is scheduled for Wednesday, October 10, 2012 in Interlaken, Switzerland during the 71st Plenary Meeting of the International Cotton Advisory Committee. The Task Force governs all aspects of the work of CSITC, including the conduct of the Round Trials. Observers are welcome at CSITC meetings.
