Tauana Monteiro Joins the ICAC Secretariat

Mrs. Tauana Monteiro Guedes Dos Santos has joined the Secretariat of the ICAC as the Executive Assistant. She succeeds Carolina Vilalva who’s husband is a Brazilian diplomat and has been unexpectedly assigned to another capital.
Tauana is a graduate of International Relations at Universidade de Brasilia. She also has a MBA in Foreign Trade, Exchange and International Negotiations at Fundação Getulio Vargas. She started her career as a Coordinator in the Secretariat of Strategic Affairs for the Presidency of Brazil where she designed long term policies related to national planning and developed public policies for Brazil. She also worked at the Ministry of Culture in Brazil coordinating a team that formulated cultural policies regarding creative economy. When she moved to Caracas, Venezuela, she worked at the UNAIDS being responsible for office´s public relations. She currently resides in Washington D.C. with her daughter and husband who works as a diplomat for the Brazilian Embassy.
Tauana will assist the executive director in communicating with Coordinating Agencies, members of the Standing Committee, members of specialized panels of the ICAC such as the Private Sector Advisory Panel (PSAP), the Expert Panel on Social, Environmental and Economic Performance of Cotton Production (SEEP), and laboratories participating in CSITC Round Trials.
