Passing Away of Russian Interpreter for ICAC
We regret to announce that Mr. Eugene Ostrowsky passed away earlier this month. Eugene served as Russian language interpreter at ICAC plenary meetings for 18 years, and was one of the most professional, competent and trustworthy people to serve the international cotton industry. All those who attended our meetings appreciated his skills. He had a wide range of abilities, with a capacity to interpret accurately both technical and scientific presentations in a way that conveyed the true meaning intended by the speaker. He was extremely professional, always coming to the meeting room in advance to ensure that microphones and other equipment were functioning correctly. His service last year in Thessaloniki (Greece) was exceptional.
Eugene was very well liked by all ICAC staff members and we always felt confident that our interpretation services were in good hands when he was with us. We will miss him greatly.
